Early this morning was a rare astronomical event that visible from the US and other parts of the world. I leapt up from my around 1:30AM this morning to look out the window and all I saw was clouds. So, I went right back to bed.
So, i figured I’d atleast watch this event as a time lapse video. Thanks to Mr. William Castleman, a professor of veterinary pathology at the University of Florida, we can watch a cool time lapse video of this rare event.
Winter Solstice Lunar Eclipse from William Castleman on Vimeo.
With the official start of this winter underway today, do not worry about missing last night’s lunar eclipse. The next one is scheduled to occur on Dec 21, 2094.
I am hoping to settle on the moon by then and look at Mother Earth from there.
