Google Voice Goes Public. Finally.

Google Voice was born out of GrandCentral and has been in invite-only beta for more than a year now. Even though it wasn’t hard to get one before you still had to apply for an invite and wait for it to arrive.

Google Voice is now open for everyone!

Google Voice gives you

one number to ring all your phones, voicemail that works like email, free calls and text messages to the U.S. and Canada, low-priced international calls and more.

Google Voice works great via the web, a mobile web app for your Internet-enabled phones and even as an integrated voicemail player in Gmail. You can even use Google Voice with your existing number. There is even an unofficial Google Voice iPhone app.

If you are still unsure why you would want Google Voice, check out this video below.

What is Google Voice?

If you haven’t tried Google Voice yet, this is a great time to jump in and give it a try. i think it’s well worth your time.

Between MagicJack and Google Voice, you could save a lot of money in traditional voice and text charges from your carriers.

I dunno… It’s kind of hard to beat Skype from the Philippines to the US, any phone, at only $6 a month.
