Google Analytics is a great tool to look at your website statistics and measure your site growth, trends, etc. Google made this enterprise class application free to use by the masses including me.
Today at the Emetrics summit in San Fransisco, they have unveiled the new version of Google Analytics. They are rolling out the new version to existing accounts over the next 2 weeks but new accounts have access to it immediately.
Quick facts – What’s new?
- The reporting interface has been re-designed to get a consolidated look at the data.
- Email and export reports.
- Customize your dashboard.
- Compare trends and select date ranges to compare.
For a smooth transition from the old version, Google suggests the following:
- Take a tour of the new version
- Report Finder Tool: will help you see where data from the previous interface is located within the new version (it is also linked to from within your reports on the left navigation menu)
- FAQs for more details about the new version
- New version features page
If you use Google Analytics, play around with the new version and familiarize yourself with the new layout and how you can make the most out of this excellent resource! Here is what it tells me in my account right now..
