Firefox Extensions: Picks of the week July 9 2007

I try to share useful Firefox extensions that I find now and then with my readers here. My Top Firefox Extensions page has some very useful extensions but I need to update it with some of the new extensions I have started using.

Secure Login: If you use Firefox’s built-in password manager, this extension will be a great addition to that feature. It deactivates pre-filling forms and let’s you choose to fill with a keystroke shortcut or a click. I use Alt-Z because it’s easy. It’ll indicate the form fields with a highlight if the form fields have been saved already or you can use sound notification. Use the settings page to set other options as well. A five star rating from me.

It’s All Text!: A lot of folks are in love with the text editor of choice. Be it TextPad, ZuluPad, Kate or whatever that is you use, now you can use it to fill any form’s text area in the web with this extension. After installing, the form textarea will have a little edit button to start editing in your favorite editor. On saving, it will port the text into the form’s text area. Watch for that yellow glow for confirmation.

FireUploader: Great for a blogger or a person who uploads/downloads file to services like Flickr, Picasa, YouTube, Box.net. Add multiple files to queue and forget about it. Upload files to multiple sites and multiple accounts in one shot. Look out for more versions in the future releases. I would personally like PhotoBucket support.

Do you use an alternate extension that works better? Or are you looking for an extension to make some part of your browsing easier.

Let me know as I am always looking for useful extensions and would be more than happy to help you out.

Secure Login sounds like a good one. I’m going to give it a try.

I’m always on the lookout for ways to slow Firefox down more with exceptional plug-ins.

And while these all look good, the first one I’m going to try is Secure Login; how did I not know about this?

    Thanks for the post.

Nice post! These are useful, yet many probably don’t know about them.

Brown Baron.. I’m very addicted to it now. Can’t beat the keyboard shortcut and no click to login.

Techsplorer.. With 41 extensions installed, I hear you about extensions slowing down Firefox 🙂 I should look for Extensions Anonymous soon.

Kyle.. that’s true but I am hoping my picks would help someone out and it looks like I got lucky this week. 🙂
