Skype has had a new version for Mac in beta for a while. But, I found it work not so well and quickly uninstalled it.
Having heard similar feedback, Skype has trimmed a lot of fat from the beta and has released a new stable version of Skype for Mac.
One of the important things in this new version is the premium package – Group video calling.
You can try this group video chat feature for FREE for 7 days (for new users). Then you can choose between $4.99 for a day pass or a monthly subscription of $8.99.
If you already have a Skype account, just create a new one to try it for free for 7 days.
Skype has also worked on trimming the UI and brought back the full screen mode in video calls.
With Skype being an important part of many online businesses who collaborate with people all over the world, it is an affordable way to enable group video calling.
I have always been impressed with Skype’s video quality and the new feature delivers nothing less.

With Facebook testing some kind of VOIP calling feature, it would be interesting to see some integration between these 2 giants.
