How to Find Out If An Airport Has TSA Body Scanners?

With the holiday season in full swing, many of you are probably traveling and some of you are flying.

As you may already know, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) have installed new backscatter body screening machines across many airports. A lot of people feel this as way too intrusive.

If this is something you want to avoid, I just found a site that compiles information on which airports are still using the X-ray/metal detectors and which airports are using the new TSA body scanners.

After an ‘enhanced pat down’ at an airport Ari Ofsevit has started compiling a list of airports that aren’t requiring the new body scanners.

This page has color coded airport codes and the scanners installed and if they are in use.

The website also has provision to report your own findings at any airport.

If you are stuck in the east coast i really feel for you. But, this may be one way to kill your time and report on these body scanners. The fastest way to send this info to Ari is by tweeting to @tsastatus.
