Quick Tip: Add Facebook Updates Next to Gmail Buzz

Google Buzz has been keeping me stay inside my Gmail Inbox a lot more than I usually do.

With this new Google Chrome extension, it appears I am about to stay a lot longer!

Google Facebook Integration Google Chrome extension adds Facebook right below Google Buzz link inside Gmail.

With this Facebook integration inside Gmail, you can see your friends’ Facebook notifications. Also, you can update your status by entering your message and clicking on your picture. (yes, you read that right).

Remember this extension is in alpha stage so it may be a little unstable.

I had to be logged in to Facebook in another tab before the Facebook Connect piece worked and then you have authorize in 3 screens to get this to work.

Gmail Facebook Integration

I did hide Google Buzz inbox messages using this little trick. Thankfully, this extension doesn’t add more Gmail inbox messages. 🙂

I’m guessing that you’re a fan of Google Buzz… I’m curious about what additional value it will add to social networking – I’m not a gmail user, so it would be an additional site to go to – do you think it’s worth it?
