WordPress 2.9 has been in development for a few months and is now available for download.

- Global undo/trash feature – no more accidental deleting of post, comments, etc.
- Built-in image editor – this is huge for me as I love to add images to every post I add
- Batch plugin update and compatibility checking
- Easier video embedding
- Automatic database optimization support
- Custom post types
- Create custom galleries
